    Dear Parents, Students, and Staff,

    Welcome back, Smyrna School District! I hope each of you enjoyed your start to the school year getting to know your school communities while learning and growing together. The entire district is so glad you are back in our buildings.

    You may recall that we mentioned some exciting changes coming to the Smyrna Messenger for the start of the 2023-24 school year. Well, the time has come for us to unveil our transformation – introducing "The Eagle’s Eye"! Our newsletter will now adopt a fresh format and will be released on a monthly basis via a platform called Smore. The Eagle’s Eye will continue to serve as your trusted source for keeping up with all the latest happenings within our school district. You can expect to receive it through email and find it conveniently posted on the Smyrna School District website as well as our Facebook page.

    Thank you to the families who sent us first day student pictures. We loved the happy smiles we saw and posted them on the Smyrna School District Facebook page, as well as in The Eagle’s Eye. As a reminder, our Facebook page is where you will find material regarding our school district, including important announcements, videos, celebrations, and other community information.     One of our Five Commitments to Stakeholders is Strong Connection to Family and Community. Our Back-to-School Welcome was an opportunity for us as a school community to come together prior to students arriving this school year.

    Thank you to our elected officials who supported this event and attended the District’s Legislative Breakfast, as well.

    As always, we appreciate your continued commitment to the Smyrna School District and thank you for the privilege to educate your children. May you continue to have a successful 2023-24 school year.
