The Smyrna Board of Education is presented with expense and revenue reports for their review and approval on a monthly basis. In accordance with Department of Education regulations, effective February 1, 2008 school districts and charter schools are required to utilize a standardized financial reporting format. The Department of Education has approved the Smyrna School District’s format and the most recent expense and revenue reports are available by selecting the links below.
In accordance with Smyrna School District Board Policy #1110, the district shall each year publish an annual report showing the expenditures of the district for the previous year, and whatever other information seems desirable. In accordance with Title 14, § 1509, Delaware Code, school districts are required to post on its website a check register indicating the recipient of each check issued by the school district, the amount of the check, and identifying information regarding the check sufficient to permit members of the public to seek additional information regarding the payment in question.
